MG at MPH 08 Prestige and Performance Motor Show

21.11.08

MG attended the MPH Prestige and Performance Motor Show featuring Top Gear Live at Earl’s Court London on the 30th October – 2nd November, and The NEC, Birmingham on the 13th November – 16th November.

The event at both venues was a huge success with 134,000 visitors in total coming to see all of the exciting marques on show and of course to watch the Top Gear Live performance, hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

Raising awareness was the main objective of MG at the event and this was certainly achieved. This was the first major show that MG has taken part in since the re-launch of the famous and historic brand in August 2008.

MG had a hospitality stand and gallery viewing area at both venues, which attracted a huge amount of interest in the TF LE500 and MG in general. MG staff were present on the stand at all times ready to deal with enquiries and answer questions from the public. Many comments were made about the superb build quality of the car and the excellent quality of the paint work.

The Top Gear Live Performance was the main attraction at both venues and was something that MG also took part in. Before the main performance started there were cinema style adverts being shown to the audience, one of which was an advert by MG. Three live adverts then followed, MG being the first to perform, with its own rendition of ‘Singing in the rain’. Two of the vibrant orange TF LE500’s completed some fantastic stunts and showed off the capabilities of the cars.

Peter Brooking, MG’s Marketing Manager said “Thousands more people are now more aware of what we are doing as a brand and seemed overwhelmingly positive – I’m sure we have sold numerous MG TF LE500’s off the back of our participation”
